Kimi Raikkonen's engineer Chris Dyer has warned that Ferrari must raise its game further if it wants to get back into the championship battle.
Although Ferrari has won the last two races with Raikkonen, the Finn remains 18 points behind points leader Lewis Hamilton, while the team lags 25 points adrift of McLaren in the constructors' standings.
"I think the last two races have shown we're there," Dyer told ITV Sport's Ted Kravitz.
"Obviously to get back in the championship we need to do better, we need one-twos.
"So there's still a lot of work to be done."
Ferrari managed a one-two in France a week ago, but its chances of a repeat at Silverstone were reduced when Raikkonen's team-mate Felipe Massa stalled on the grid.
He had to start from the pit lane and recovered to fifth.
Dyer also remained cautious about Ferrari's apparent speed advantage at Silverstone.
He suspected that McLaren's pace had been masked by high tyre wear.
"I don't know yet if it was absolute speed, or I think we had a bit of an advantage with tyre degradation," Dyer said.
"We saw in the middle stint Fernando initially a little quicker, just opening up a gap.
"But we had a lot more fuel on board, and then towards the middle of the stint I think his tyres started to go away.
"The lap times evened up and we could match his pace with more fuel on board and then make the jump at the second stop."
