Former Honda test driver Mike Conway is being lined up to run for Mercedes GP at the forthcoming young driver tests in Spain.
The Jerez circuit, where the event will be held on 1-3 December, has listed Conway as one of Mercedes' drivers for the three-day test.
Japanese Formula 3 champion Marcus Ericsson is set to drive for the squad in the afternoons on all three days, with Conway running in the morning.
Kentish ace Conway was a Honda protege from 2007 until the company's withdrawal from Formula 1 at the end of last season.
The 26-year-old had previously won the British Formula 3 title and the prestigious Macau F3 Grand Prix, and also spent two years in GP2, with a win in Monaco the highlight.
After Honda's departure Conway switched his focus to American racing and joined the IndyCar Series, where he showed plenty of speed in his debut season and took a podium finish at Sears Point in California - although several other promising races were spoiled by crashes.
Mercedes has been formed from what was once the Honda team, with the German manufacturer buying this year's champion squad Brawn GP - which was itself created from the ashes of Honda's F1 project.
Fellow Mercedes tester Ericsson is a 19-year-old Swede who has spent the last two seasons in F3 after winning the British Formula BMW title in his first season of car racing.
He has also recently stepped up to GP2 with a drive for champion team ART in this winter's Asia Series.
