Sebastian Vettel described his Red Bull-Renault as a 'pleasure to drive' as he dominated the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and led the team's fourth one-two finish of the year.
The German jumped early leader Lewis Hamilton at the first pit stops and proceeded to control the rest of the race, wrapping up second in the championship in the process.
"The car was fantastic and was working brilliantly on both tyres," said Vettel.
"It was a pleasure to sit in the car this evening.
"The car is getting quicker and it's a shame the season is ending."
Despite predictions that Hamilton would be unstoppable in the race given his practice and qualifying pace, Vettel was able to harass the McLaren even before it retired with brake issues.
"We had a very good launch, obviously not good enough to out-accelerate Lewis, but I was very close and I was surprised," Vettel said.
"Then going along the back straight he pushed the [KERS] button and that was it, he disappeared into the distance.
"But I was able to stay close enough - we knew that we were a little bit heavier so it was always the key to catch up.
"The car was a dream today, especially in the last sector, so I was always catching him quite a lot.
"I nearly went a bit wide at the oit entrance and then was on the limit in that scary exit through the tunnel, and it was enough to get past him.
"Unfortunately then he had to retire, and after that I had a little bit of a cushion to Mark [Webber] and Jenson [Button], and was able to pace myself a bit."
He now hopes that Red Bull can carry its current momentum through into 2010.
"It would be very good to continue like this," said Vettel.
"Back in the factory the guys are pushing very hard and the rules will not change that much for next year, so we will see."
