Robert Kubica felt Sebastien Buemi was guilty of unfair defensive driving during their battle for the final point in Abu Dhabi, but the Swiss rookie was adamant he had given his BMW rival enough space.
Toro Rosso driver Buemi ultimately came home with the eighth place, while Kubica spun back to 10th while trying to pass him.
“The fight was quite tough,” Kubica said.
“From my point of view it was a bit dangerous because on the exit of the hairpin on the backstraight he chose the inside line, I had no more space there, I tried to go inside, then I moved to the right, in the same moment he starts moving and under the braking he didn’t leave me any space, I was braking over the kerb.
“We touched actually; my front wing touched his rear wheel, so it was quite dangerous.
"I took the inside kerb on the second right-hander of the chicane because we were side-by-side and I lost control of the car because the kerb was very high."
But Buemi did not think he had done anything wrong during their tussle.
"My fight with Robert was quite fair, as I think I left him enough space," he insisted.
Buemi added that the incident would not take the shine off his second straight points finish and his generally impressive end to 2009.
"Getting another point today, after also scoring in Brazil, is a nice way to end the season," he said.
"The entire team has done a great job over the past four races and so I am looking forward to next year."
